We do not directly design (though we do review and input on everything)/manufacture/box/ship/etc. merchandise. That is not our area of expertise nor are we remotely close to staffed to do so.

That being the case, we partner with other groups with that expertise - Vidglo, Sanshee, Eighty Sixed, PFG etc - to help make cool physical merch a reality... well beyond the mass produced "print a logo on a non-descript mug or shirt" approach. This is the case for almost all of the merch you see out there for any game.

That is the case here - we are not board game designers/manufacturers. We wanted to see one happen, so we spoke to several potential partners - focused primarily on who had the best vision for making a legit Terraria boardgame and not just "slap Terraria IP on some random idea".

Merchandise requires up front payment of costs - often massive up front payments - based on minimum order quantities and the like. You then hope that you get the revenue late...

really? are their salaries known? that's pretty disappointing to hear

No they are not known. The information posted in this thread is not accurate in the slightest.

To be fair to relogic, many times they passed up the opportunity for more money to give us free content.

For example, terraria 1.4 could have cost as low as 99 cents, and they would have woken up to a million bucks. But it was free.

Passionate? Absolutely.

Driven solely by money? Nope.

Barely make a living wage? Where did you get that from? Re-Logic takes good care of the team - driven by the continuous support you all give us each day. :)

We don't do crunch time either.

Just did not want a myth like that floating around before people take it as truth.

Let me know if you need me to chase them on this.

Beyond the obvious issues with this one - what issues are you having with other partners we have? Would love to know so that I can chase them down.

I got the set of them back during the Kickstarter. Honestly I regret it. The quality was low, 2 of the 3 I got had issues. They did send me new ones, but I haven't touched them.

Honestly it's a big disappointment. Terraria is a great game and deserves quality merch. This was an official thing. Sucks that terraria merch has been so poor.

Yeah that one certainly had some issues. Did the new ones turn out ok? I would say this is the exception across our merch partners vs the rule (eg. Vidglo, Sanshee, 86'd, etc. stuff has all been great and well received as far as I am aware). If you need something more from these folks let me know and I'll chase it down.

Not everyone knows about the wiki, or how to use it. Let’s show people that the Terraria community is kind and helpful :)

I’m not gonna lie your screenshot is picture perfect sh*tpost haha. I got a chuckle from some of the comments, but glad you found what you needed. I hope you enjoy the rest of the game.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, just know our community is full of trolls(in a good way) and make use of the official wiki: https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/Terraria_Wiki

u/redigit word of advice, add a description to each selection in the menu dude, nobody knows what “expert” or “master” means when they just start playing the game. Sorry not sorry. Make it happen. Now.

Edit: It wasn’t obvious but I’m joking! Sorry Red. I’m not back tracking I’m serious I was just kidding as you can by making rushed demands to the literal creator of the game! My bad if I upset you red

I’ve been pinged twice today over this and I can’t tell if you guys are trying to mess with me. We’ve had tooltips since we added the creation screen

Just assume going into the darkness will end your run. Pay attention and invest heavily into your herb farm until you have dangersense potions to spare, and then never worry about traps again.

as the creator of terraria, do you find hardcore hard?

It’s funny because I feel like I of all people should be better at the game, but since there is no real penalty for death I am highly reckless. So when it comes to hardcore I have to completely relearn how to play the game.

The furthest I have got is expert plantera. I really want to try at it more but I’m just so busy with all the other stuff we have going on. Someday!

Part of the strategy for my last hardcore run was to get the painter asap and grind him for it. It’s pretty decent if you get it early enough

Team A. I want that Paintball Gun

However there's a trick with Teleporters, where placing one on top of each other, then placing a piece of furniture, then breaking the bottom Teleporter leaves the piece of furniture floating and you can place nearly anything under it

Pretty much this. We could fix it, but I don’t think it’s the best use of dev time for just this 1 object
