The Cataclysm Classic pre-patch is coming to an end with the launch of Cataclysm Classic on Monday, May 20 at 3:00 p.m. PDT, and we’d like to share some notes on aspects of the expansion that players will want to know.

World Bosses

Poseidus, Mobus, Garr, Xariona, Akma’hat, and Julak-Doom will first begin spawning with the weekly reset the week of June 4. They’ll begin to appear alongside the Baradin Hold raid and its first boss, Argaloth.

Except Poseidus, who drops a mount, world bosses will drop item-level 346 pieces of unique gear alongside a recipe and a random iLvl 359 bind-on-equip epic. These bosses will eventually drop their item-level 359 unique gear when Zul’Gurub and Zul’Aman unlock.

With a hotfix that we applied a few minutes ago, we’ve fixed a bug that was causing some high-level boss abilities to unintentionally do double damage to players.

For players who have been inside an instance since before the hotfix went out, there will be no change until you leave and start a new instance.

The team has been hard at work on Season of Discovery and Cataclysm Classic. There’s a lot happening in Classic right now, and while we’ve been working incredibly hard, we’ve also been fairly quiet, so we felt it would be a good time to provide an update on a few things, including Season of Discovery Phase 4.

Phase 4 Release Update

Cutting straight to it, and as you have no doubt likely noticed, the World of Warcraft team has been delivering a lot of exciting content lately, and this will (of course) continue well through the next few months and beyond. As such, to land Phase 4 at just the right time, our current phase (Phase 3) is going to last longer than previous Season of Discovery content phases. We can’t share Phase 4’s release date just yet, and we know this news and the longer Phase 3 may be disappointing to some, but our timeline will ensure that our Classic team delivers an experience worthy of our players at the high-qualit...

WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria

• Fixed a bug that initially prevented players who did not own Dragonflight from being able to learn Dragonriding from Lord Andestrasz in Remix: Pandaria. This was unintended.

Non-Player Characters

• Jenafur has managed to wash off the strange grey paint that also changed her eye color. Jenafur is now once again a properly striped feline, allegedly.
• Melsysra fell back asleep and found their way back to the Central Encampment in the Emerald Dream, allowing players to continue with their Renown quests.
• Newsy was slow retrieving mail but has had a successful trip to the postmaster in Dalaran, allowing players to return to Loamm and continue with their Renown quests.
• Alleria and Umbric are now always present as expected for quest completion.

1. Log into World of Warcraft: Dragonflight in your Battle.net Launcher.
2. Create a new Timerunner character.

Please note: You can create Timerunning characters on any Dragonflight realm. Feel free to change realm before creating your Timerunner, if you wish to.

3. Customize your character, and hit that Enter World button!

Cataclysm Classic

• Darkmoon Faire Island is now set to open on May 26 through June 1.
• The Stratholme Main Gate entrance should now place you in the correct location when queued through Random Dungeon Finder.
• Exhaustion, Sated, and Temporal Displacement will now be cleared from pets when they are cleared from their masters.
• Mage
  • Fixed an issue where dispelled Ignite effects were increasing the damage done by future Ignites. Dispels from the Glyph of Polymorph and duels ending will also now clear the damage done.
• Rogue
  • Fixed an issue with Deadly Momentum that caused its increased critical chance to be consumed by auto attacks that did not benefit from that increased chance. This is a true-to-reference 14-year-old bug, but was clearly unintended, so we fixed it.
